Free class Saturday: the kitchen, not the cake
Every tutorial you watch shows the finished cake and cuts out the kitchen: the wrong turns, the retries, the fixes. The kitchen is the part you needed to see.
Saturday School, 26 September
Free and live on YouTube, on Saturday morning in the US. This week's class is called The kitchen, not the cake. Open the class page.
The start time also shows on the video below.

What you will watch happen
- Mercer, who runs this class, picks one real task and shows it at the start. He asks an AI for it in one line, the way most of us type.
- He reads the answer out loud and marks on screen what is wrong with it.
- He tries the obvious fix, pasting in everything at once, and leaves the result on screen whatever it is.
- He rewrites the request with the few facts it was missing, runs it again, and reads out what changed.
The mess is the lesson.
A tutorial edits out the middle, and the middle is where you learn what to fix. This class leaves it in on purpose.
Bring one thing: something you gave up on because a tutorial made it look easy. Near the end he reads a few answers from the live chat.
- Free, and about thirty minutes.
- Nothing to install. Watching needs no account; typing in the chat needs a YouTube sign-in.
- Afterwards the replay goes up on the channel.
