Saturday's class: the same question, two answers

Ask a machine the same thing twice and you can get two different answers back. That is not something you can prompt your way out of — it is what happens when you describe a job instead of defining one.

Saturday we make it happen on purpose, and then we fix it live.

Here is the whole hour.

  1. We give a machine one small job, written the ordinary way, as a paragraph. We run it twice. The two answers do not match.
  2. We rewrite the same job as a short set of rules. Same facts, same words, different shape.
  3. We run it twice more. This time the answers hold, and you can see it on screen.

What you walk away with: the difference between describing a job and defining one, and a shape you can reuse that same afternoon.

Bring one thing: something you ask a machine to do over and over and still have to check every time.

Free, live, and nothing to buy. We start from zero every week and explain the words as we go.

Afterwards the replay goes up with captions, so you — or your assistant — can read it back.
